Being a voice for a just world
Poverty and hunger don’t happen by accident: they are man-made injustices. People are kept hungry, powerless and locked in poverty by global rules, practices and behaviours that only benefit the few.
As part of one human family, we are all called on to play our part in building a just world, for everyone. Working for the common good of all people is more than an act of charity: it is a requirement of justice.
SCIAF’s campaigns speak out against the injustices which cause, contribute to or maintain poverty and hunger. SCIAF’s campaigners speak out and act in solidarity with those whose voices might otherwise go unheard.
Never tire of working for a more just world, marked by greater solidarity. Pope Francis, World Youth Day, Rio de Janero, Brazil (July, 2013).
