Pupils bake their way to £400!
Hello! Our names are Katy, Francesca H., Francesca P., Allena, Rosie and Imogen. We organised a bake sale for SCIAF in our church hall, and raised an amazing £400!!!
The idea started when some friends of ours started an enterprising project of making and selling bracelets for SCIAF, and we thought, why don't we do something too?
Most of us enjoyed baking, so a bake sale seemed like a great option. We organised getting the hall, baking the food, and we managed to raise a staggering amount of money, but the best thing is, that money will personally help some of the poorest people in this world. Somewhere, in a few weeks, a family will have a hand up, not a hand out, and we are proud to say that was because of us!
It's amazing to know that we have personally changed somebody's life- and hopefully, many generations after them- with just a bit of fun and sugar, but I guess that's what charity is about. We have helped SCIAF help people help themselves, and that is something to be proud of.
It's an idea for you too- whether you're good at bracelet making, baking, art- you can use that to make money for SCIAF. It doesn't matter whether you raise £2 or £200- every penny counts and SCIAF is definitely one of the best charities to give it to!
