On the 23rd of May, St Columba’s High School took part in a sponsored walk from our school campus to Lunderson Bay.
The walk was a total of 7.5 miles there and back! We were very lucky that the weather was nice despite some cloud. When we reached Lunderson Bay, there was a Burger and Ice Cream van waiting for us (which was delicious!). The owners of the van kindly donated some money to SCIAF as well.
The Walk raised a total of £3000 for SCIAF and at our Feast Day Mass, a cheque was handed over to Christina Leitch by Rebecca Scott (see image below) who personally raised over £80 in sponsor money! Earlier in the year, we raised £861 for SCIAF to help with the Philippines Appeal.
During the walk, the police helped us cross busy roads and all staff took part, so it was a real community effort. This gave me a sense that everyone realised what good SCIAF does in their work for those less fortunate in our world. St Columba’s are glad to work alongside SCIAF in creating a more just world.
