Many of the products that we buy in our shops are grown or produced by people in developing countries who are not paid properly for their work, and as a result have to live in poverty. Fair Trade is about creating opportunities for producers in the developing world to receive a fair price for their goods and to work their way out of poverty.

Fair Trade guarantees:

  • A fair and stable price for farmers/producers in developing countries
  • Farmers and workers in developing countries receive extra money to spend on community projects like schools, hospitals and clean water.
  • Safe and healthy working conditions.
  • No child labour is used.
  • Protection for the environment
  • Rights for women
